Heroism

Embrace your inner heroism in you!

As the years’ progress, we see that peoples’ materialistic needs have increased compared to the past. With the advancements in technology, our society is becoming fast-paced, making people more fragile mentally, making people absorb the good and bad of the world. Technology has influenced many of us to meet people less in person due to having more online presence. This causes a lack of cohesion where people do not coexist as they once did. This statement brings me to the reason why this post is important: the importance of coexisting and the idea that few individuals through their charisma, charm, and intelligence can bring us into a unified front. The first premise defines what a hero is. The kind of traits or qualities one needs to identify as a hero! Second, what kinds of heroes are out there in the world. What kinds of heroes are we desperately in need of in this era? How can we embrace our heroism within ourselves? What is heroism?

Hero is a subjective word depending on how the word is being used, in the context of describing someone or telling someone. For example, one can call someone “my hero” complementarily, which implies one did something warranting heroism. The second example is in a more practical frame where one earns a medal like the Nobel peace prize for doing something exemplary one did in their field. There are various examples where one can become a hero. By definition, the word ‘hero’ is transformative. To be regarded as a hero, one needs to undergo ordeals that shape one into a being that transcends history or the time they live in. The traits we see in a hero are selflessness, humility, charisma, and the healing of the people. This is my definition of what a hero is. This definition of a hero can also be considered a trait of how I idolize a hero.

Now that we know what a hero is and what qualities and traits he/she needs to be recognized as a hero. We can then consider what types of heroes exist. You may disagree with my opinion, and that is fine. I want to point out that understanding the point of view of a critical concept can muddle your thoughts; please be mindful of whether you agree or disagree with my opinions. Let’s get down to what types of heroes exist today!

The first heroes are the warriors, which are common in today’s world as we see them everywhere. Warrior heroes can be anyone that protects our known civilizations like the military, police, etc… The second group of heroes are the humanitarians. Those that fight for humanity when the powerful oppress the weak. For example, Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, and Anne Frank. The third kind of hero is the healer. Healers are heroes of the people that provide support to everyday people both spiritually and mentally. Healers are essential, without them there would only be chaos in the world. Healers today would be seen as doctors, priests, and mental health professionals. As time goes on, we notice that healers are important and need to be present throughout time. Healers symbolize and can be considered as also humanitarian. They symbolize the human race and the struggle of the current era. Whether it may be about health or social issues or both. Lastly, another type of hero I like to also recognize alongside the healer and humanitarian is the artist. They bring colours to the dark and gloomy world. It lights up our world and allows human expression to be more visible. We need fewer warriors and more artists that can change the world in a way where everyone can live and coexist with one another.

Lastly, how can one embrace their heroic traits or qualities? In my opinion, one can embrace these qualities by accepting one’s authentic self, not the ideals that others thrust upon you – they are not you! Hence, it is your decision to make sure that you are being the best version of yourself. This in itself is heroic that is the first step of empowering oneself. The final question is what is heroism? The answer is the sum of the deeds you do in an attempt to find yourself in the dark. The deed is the light that provides you with the path to yourself to venture forwards!

Heroism is matter of choice!

Richard Cohen

True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost.

Arthur Ashe

Be yourself and be true to yourself, because heroes are in all of us! No matter what life one leads’ everyone can master their life.

Strikes Of Lightning

Change is everywhere!

Change is Storm

One may know the phrase that ‘lightning doesn’t strike the same place twice, but what if I told you in actuality that is an obsolete idea, because actually it can strike the same place twice, once in your universe and another in your reality.  In any life changing events that one faces, whether it may be good or bad, it has somehow changed the flow of one’s internal world and made one’s reality somewhat turbulent. Thus, this makes one question their decisions in how to carry on in achieving their goals. In reality this change for many individuals is a make or break moment, meaning this is when everyone of us is tested with how strong our resolve is. If it is strong, then the change that you face will be positive, while those who’s resolve falters, may face an unfavourable wave of change, which may cause regret and great deal of friction to accept.

Before we delve deeper into this post I want to clarify that lightning is the element I am using to symbolize change, growth, and failure, because in a way we need this element to put us through these trials to make us, stronger, bolder, braver, persevere, and lastly, to stay resilient.

Now that I have explained the significance of lightning lets delve into the core of this element, which is change, in what I shared earlier is something we all had or have to face depending on what stages of life we are in. Change is all around us like right now where we have to stay home, due to COVID-19. Many people I understand are still struggling, whether it may be financially, professionally, or even personally; regardless I want you all to take the time out of your day to accept that this change may open many doors that you may have not thought of opening or rediscovering oneself and finding out new interests that one may want to develop once everything resumes. Everyone of us needs change, whether it may be good or bad no one knows, but at least it keeps us on our toes and always keeps life interesting.

It’s not a Storm. It’s a Transition.

I want people to understand that life is messy and change is the storm that can bring good tidings or can cause great disasters. In many of these storms lightning is a force that has the potential to guide one to great destinations that one may have not thought of.

It’s New Day!

Every day is fresh start!

“I genuinely believe that every day is a fresh start and the mistakes we may have made yesterday or day before may as well evaporate, because it has served its wisdom, thus, it does not hold any value today.”

———- EDDIE PINERO

This quote is almost always repeated within Eddie Pinero’s many vlogs that he creates on youtube for his fellow subscribers. So, how does this quote magnify my theme of self-improvement and growth, obviously there are multiple interpretations of this quote? But, the most part of the quote is that the mistakes one makes do not define where one goes in life. Again the quote can be interpreted differently depending on how you live day-to-day. Nonetheless, this quote lays out the foundation of this post.

“It’s a New Day”, I define this phrase as a reminder to remain optimistic that every day is a chance of exploration of myself. Having a new day every day gives one the time to spend it in whatever manner one sees fit. Some individuals may choose to use their life/days in ambition in changing the very foundations of our society through modern innovation or inventions, or fighting for change for the people that suffer. These individuals seek to fight for an equal chance for the people that are not well off. This kind of ambition can be rewarding or noble, but it is also important to understand that everyone leads a different life. Some people may live for familial experiences and joy with friends and family, though in doing so one may always find life to be either too boring or too interesting. It is important to point out that we must exercise moderation in lives we lead day in and day out, otherwise, this can cause one to lose time and days spent with people in not giving time to oneself to grow as a person and as an individual. Vice-versa constantly spending time on your craft or ambition can be that much more devastating because it causes one to distance oneself of human connections that we as humans thrive off.

Hence, in my dissection of this topic, I want to point out that connecting to people close to you and connecting with one’s inner voice both help in self-exploration and magnification of ones being. It also allows one to be less anxious about the path that one seeks to lead. With the chosen path one can attain an innumerable amount of wisdom in their present life. The people are the support system that will teach you and guide you to your chosen path. I feel that those that are brave will forge their paths in order to change the world that they so desperately want to. The ones that have succeeded are the ones that have capabilities to motivate others that seek the same thing in the face of adversity. However, those who have succeeded cannot push you into the opportunities that may lead you to your destination. For that, one must look within themselves and find a reason and motivation to move forward as a person.

So, embrace the gift of having a new day, every day. Live on top of the world every day to prove yourself that you are worthy to be extraordinary and determined to be the person you see yourself as.

To live in the light of a new day and an unimaginable and unpredictable future, you must become fully present to a deeper truth – not a truth from your head, but a truth from your heart; not a truth from your ego, but a truth from the highest source.

Luck

What is Luck? Many people say that it comes from circumstantial situations or it is a “fated destiny”. But let me tell you a secret about what I think luck is to me. I am not going to lie that I did not think that it is a “fated destiny”, because, for a long time, that is exactly what luck meant to me.

It is an eye opener when my favourite vlogger described luck other than a trait to describe the lucky people and unlucky people. Eddie Pinero stated a saying by Seneca that luck is when preparation meets hard work. I found that the way Eddie described luck throughout his video to be intriguing and to be honest it made more sense compared to how people and how religions describe luck as a circumstance.

I believe now that luck is within all of us, whether we use it or not is entirely up to us. We want our times that we spend together with our loved ones to mean something, as well as to pursue our desires and goals that can alter our understanding of ourselves, causing us to be that much closer to achieving our greatest goals, and our pursuits. We want to share our luck with people, but one must realize that luck cannot be shared, but it can help us push us and other people around us forward much like passion/inspiration. Luck is a fickle term that we use to describe our life and our success as well as the challenges we face.

If we feel lucky we are more likely to engage in activities because we get joy and satisfaction from them. Luck is not a term to be put on a pedestal, because it is used to push progress and one’s outlook that can bring out the best in us. Thus, be able to leave a legacy on the world we leave behind. We want our hard work and achievements to be highlighted to those that criticized us and acknowledge our tenacity in forging past our limitations. In other words, the term luck is by people that see someone developing and improving quickly and consider them to be lucky, genius, talented, and etc.

Inspiration is one thing and you can’t control it, but hard work is what keeps the ship moving. Good luck means, work hard. Keep up the good work.

To conclude this post I will comment by telling you that luck is not a trait to be admired, it is rather a trait for one to push us forward when one is ‘tired’, ‘unmotivated’, and etc. So get out there an leave a mark on this world so that people that underestimated you can call you lucky. Because deep down you know that you have done nothing that can be considered lucky, but instead you have made preparations and worked hard to be considered as lucky by the outsiders. Be the individual that understands that luck is more than a word, but a description of one’s immense potential to do whatever one desires in their lifetime.
