Reflection

“Learn to know thyself, and learn to reflect on thyself”

Reflection is all about learning about yourself, thus elevating oneself to higher plain of knowing!

Recently, I have been reflecting on myself. Learning to understand the vitality of human emotion is hard when most of us prefer to stay ignorant and compartmentalize our emotions. I realized that I had forgotten to feel my emotions and feelings, sometimes that is so important for self-growth.

Emotions, like many small things, can be overlooked or ignored like sadness, anger, disgust, and etc.  We learn that positivity is more important than negativity, however, when we look at our emotions we cannot deny that they are a way to circumvent our pent-up feelings. That is why self-reflection is really important to practice because it opens us up to feel human and feel alive. In my opinion, emotions are teachers, because they teach you how you actually feel even though you do not realize the fact.

In this post, we dwell on the importance of self-reflection and how we can use our mind and spirit to work in cohesion in order to gain clarity and let our emotions push past our hesitation, self-doubt, and most of all, our insecurities. I believe that there are hidden phenomena that take place within ourselves and when we learn to self-reflect and feel what we often deny.

You must be wondering what I am going on about and why am I sounding like an author from a sci-fi novel. Let’s keep an open mind about ourselves. We call ourselves humans, Intelligent life forms, predatorial and territorial, and most of all stardust. In defining our core being we have to understand that self-reflection and the power of emotions at the end of the day are a singularity that recycles and makes us confront our inner demons. I believe we are everything that our planet earth wants us to be, such as creators, helpers, and coexisting with the nature around us. Obviously, we can see how much we are ruining our planet with pollution and war. If that is not enough we interfere with the natural order of the earth this also includes interfering with each other’s lives. Regardless, we human beings are endless like the universe we live in In this blog, I will be talking about dimensions within us and how that is our reflection of ourselves.

I am going to explain the understanding of ‘dimensions’ and how that is a reflection of ourselves. For example, imagine a clear night where there is a full moon and its light shines in the water and you just happen to be there looking at your reflection of yourself in the water. Would you see your reflection in the water completely or maybe just a half of yourself? I will leave that answer to you, but in my opinion, it can go either way. Most often I imagine that we see only half of ourselves because the other half is left undiscovered and that my friends are what I call are ‘dimensions.’ Reflection is an innate tool that is within us from the time we were born to the time we pass on. I find reflection to be so important for us because it helps us travel through the unlimited dimension that we create of ourselves. In this post, I want to define dimensions as multiple universes within us and reflection as a tool to travel to these unknown dimensions in order to unearth pieces of oneself that are hidden from them.

These pieces are forgotten, overlooked, and cast out, which may beg the question: “what is the use to look for these pieces of yourself that you outgrew?” What if I said that these pieces are qualities and traits that were positive and now cast out, would you still delve deeper into the dimension to reclaim them? Because I know I would! Though there may be a little bit of naivety in my thinking, these qualities and traits that are forgotten deserve to be reclaimed. Doing so will make you feel elevated to reclaim such lost qualities within yourself. These lost qualities and traits will help you reflect on your actions, thoughts, and most all will help us feel a sense of accomplishment that we are that much closer to gaining an understanding of ourselves. These pieces you reclaim will become part of your core being. In this aspect, you can view that dimensions are your forgotten personalities and you are journeying there to rebuild yourself back up.

As Water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart

Proverb 27:19

I want to leave off by saying that don’t be afraid in reclaiming your positive traits and qualities that are often muddled by other people’s interference in your life, because at the end of the day it is up to you and how you feel about yourself and the people around you. Learn to let go of things that weigh you down, and allow yourself to reflect on your dimensions that are forgotten and are positive pieces of yourself that deserve to be reclaimed.
