It’s New Day!

Every day is fresh start!

“I genuinely believe that every day is a fresh start and the mistakes we may have made yesterday or day before may as well evaporate, because it has served its wisdom, thus, it does not hold any value today.”

———- EDDIE PINERO

This quote is almost always repeated within Eddie Pinero’s many vlogs that he creates on youtube for his fellow subscribers. So, how does this quote magnify my theme of self-improvement and growth, obviously there are multiple interpretations of this quote? But, the most part of the quote is that the mistakes one makes do not define where one goes in life. Again the quote can be interpreted differently depending on how you live day-to-day. Nonetheless, this quote lays out the foundation of this post.

“It’s a New Day”, I define this phrase as a reminder to remain optimistic that every day is a chance of exploration of myself. Having a new day every day gives one the time to spend it in whatever manner one sees fit. Some individuals may choose to use their life/days in ambition in changing the very foundations of our society through modern innovation or inventions, or fighting for change for the people that suffer. These individuals seek to fight for an equal chance for the people that are not well off. This kind of ambition can be rewarding or noble, but it is also important to understand that everyone leads a different life. Some people may live for familial experiences and joy with friends and family, though in doing so one may always find life to be either too boring or too interesting. It is important to point out that we must exercise moderation in lives we lead day in and day out, otherwise, this can cause one to lose time and days spent with people in not giving time to oneself to grow as a person and as an individual. Vice-versa constantly spending time on your craft or ambition can be that much more devastating because it causes one to distance oneself of human connections that we as humans thrive off.

Hence, in my dissection of this topic, I want to point out that connecting to people close to you and connecting with one’s inner voice both help in self-exploration and magnification of ones being. It also allows one to be less anxious about the path that one seeks to lead. With the chosen path one can attain an innumerable amount of wisdom in their present life. The people are the support system that will teach you and guide you to your chosen path. I feel that those that are brave will forge their paths in order to change the world that they so desperately want to. The ones that have succeeded are the ones that have capabilities to motivate others that seek the same thing in the face of adversity. However, those who have succeeded cannot push you into the opportunities that may lead you to your destination. For that, one must look within themselves and find a reason and motivation to move forward as a person.

So, embrace the gift of having a new day, every day. Live on top of the world every day to prove yourself that you are worthy to be extraordinary and determined to be the person you see yourself as.

To live in the light of a new day and an unimaginable and unpredictable future, you must become fully present to a deeper truth – not a truth from your head, but a truth from your heart; not a truth from your ego, but a truth from the highest source.

Roses

Hey, guys, I have been extremely busy with studies and exams and sorts. But now I am free. So I will try to publish as many blogs as possible.

In my quest to explore love it is futile not to consider the symbolism of love, which we celebrate on Valentine’s day by gifting a rose to a special someone or to ourselves. In many cases, roses have also been depicted as flowers of pain that can be caused by various emotions, but in this case, we will focus on its association with love. It is important to note, however, that roses have taken on many forms of cultural importance around the world.

In order to further explore love let us use the example of a rose as a manifestation/symbol of love. For this blog I want you to visualize a rose and each part of this rose has various meanings of love. Let us start with the stem which connects to the petals. I would like to think that the stem symbolizes connectedness of oneself to everyone else in the world and around us that means that we are all capable of loving one another. The second part of the rose is its thorns in which case we depict love to be painful. Similarly, I want you to think that these thorns of the rose are a test to see if you and your lover are able to grow and understand each other regardless of your differences. The third part of the rose are the petals that are symbolic in a way that each petal that we pluck is a fleeting experience or a moment of time that one spends with their lover. Petals also symbolize the fragility of love, meaning that one is willed to enjoy and cherish their time with one another. Due to the fragility of love, they both are willed in attempting to make every time momentous and memorable for each other to lead a healthy life together. The last characteristic of the rose is, of course, the overall beauty of the flower. The beauty of the rose sums up the emotion of love because it is the living embodiment of the emotion love, thus, the rose can be seen as much more than a flower, but rather a teaching tool for heartaches and memories that love causes for the two people.

Love planted a rose, and the world turned sweet.

——–Katharine Lee Bates

To conclude the post I want to just say that one should love everyone around them, love their life partner, and lastly, love themselves. Let the moments you spend with people around you, whether it may be strangers or loved ones, be filled with roses.

New Beginnings

It’s a new beginning of the year and of one’s life to start new things. This is the year where you replace old tattered pages and replace them with new ones in your life. In a way its a time of growth and discovery regardless of your age. We all know that we are hesitant to start new things because we are afraid of failing, however, you will never know if you do not attempt to start that endeavour.

Dive into the uncomfortable situations and witness where that takes you, with your goals in mind and the spiritual yearning to shine bright like the stars in the sky, let yourself be guided to shine as bright as you want. Push yourself and inspire others to do the same because life is all about peak experiences and the thrill you get from doing them. Have the determination and sacrifice what hinders you in achieving your goals, desires, and dreams.

New beginnings are a sign to push away all the negativity that holds you back and bring in positivity into your life, attitude, and your mentality to continuously grow without fear of failing. If you have not failed then you have not tried. If you fail it means you are trying and in turn attaining pieces of yourself and understanding yourself better. Making mistakes, hardships, struggles and accomplishments comes with the territory of failing because that is how you pursue excellence. It may be your 100 or more attempts till you see results of your triumph. Each mistake gets you that much closer to success in realizing your potential.

Make mistakes that way you are moving forward and getting knowledge and wisdom from it. Life is all about not giving up and pursuing whole-heartedly our goals that give us hope, will and power to drive forward in fulfilling our goals and leaving a mark on this world before departing. Eddie Pinero is a motivational vlogger that vlogs about self-growth to his fellow listeners as a way to lift their spirits up if they are struggling at life. One of his videos highlights the importance of confidence. His video is about “you are stronger then you think,” which is actually very true because we human beings have the yearn to prove to our friends, family, professionals, and even competitors that we are strong, ambitious, and willful in our commitments and desires. As Eddie states that “in the darkest of hours, brightest of days one will always be rise to the occasion if need be,” so I tell you do not worry and question your level of strength, because you will always end up being stronger than you think you are. We as humans are so committed and dedicated to living up to the identities that we have made for ourselves we are not hesitant to continue with that identity. Other people’s expectations of us very little compared to how we see ourselves. Hence, as we grow we change our identity that better suits us. We set ourselves to become better than we were before, in order to chase for a better tomorrow.

“It’s a wise man who understands that every day is a new beginning, because boy, how many mistakes do you make in a day? I don’t know about you, but I make plenty. You can’t turn the clock back, so you have to look ahead.”

——–Mel Gibson

“Let go of yesterday. Let today be a new beginning and be the best that you can, and you’ll get to where God wants you to be.”
———-Joel Osteen

In conclusion, this is a brave new world and a new year of opportunities for you to grab challenges to overcome and grow at an exponential rate such that no one can get the chance to measure your success and excellence. Don’t give up; look to the stars and pursue seeing endless possibilities and endless growth of character. Make this New Year your playground to make a success of your dreams and desires.

Luck

What is Luck? Many people say that it comes from circumstantial situations or it is a “fated destiny”. But let me tell you a secret about what I think luck is to me. I am not going to lie that I did not think that it is a “fated destiny”, because, for a long time, that is exactly what luck meant to me.

It is an eye opener when my favourite vlogger described luck other than a trait to describe the lucky people and unlucky people. Eddie Pinero stated a saying by Seneca that luck is when preparation meets hard work. I found that the way Eddie described luck throughout his video to be intriguing and to be honest it made more sense compared to how people and how religions describe luck as a circumstance.

I believe now that luck is within all of us, whether we use it or not is entirely up to us. We want our times that we spend together with our loved ones to mean something, as well as to pursue our desires and goals that can alter our understanding of ourselves, causing us to be that much closer to achieving our greatest goals, and our pursuits. We want to share our luck with people, but one must realize that luck cannot be shared, but it can help us push us and other people around us forward much like passion/inspiration. Luck is a fickle term that we use to describe our life and our success as well as the challenges we face.

If we feel lucky we are more likely to engage in activities because we get joy and satisfaction from them. Luck is not a term to be put on a pedestal, because it is used to push progress and one’s outlook that can bring out the best in us. Thus, be able to leave a legacy on the world we leave behind. We want our hard work and achievements to be highlighted to those that criticized us and acknowledge our tenacity in forging past our limitations. In other words, the term luck is by people that see someone developing and improving quickly and consider them to be lucky, genius, talented, and etc.

Inspiration is one thing and you can’t control it, but hard work is what keeps the ship moving. Good luck means, work hard. Keep up the good work.

———–Kevin Eubanks

To conclude this post I will comment by telling you that luck is not a trait to be admired, it is rather a trait for one to push us forward when one is ‘tired’, ‘unmotivated’, and etc. So get out there an leave a mark on this world so that people that underestimated you can call you lucky. Because deep down you know that you have done nothing that can be considered lucky, but instead you have made preparations and worked hard to be considered as lucky by the outsiders. Be the individual that understands that luck is more than a word, but a description of one’s immense potential to do whatever one desires in their lifetime.

Notice

Dear, readers

I have been extremely busy with university, I promise you that I will post blogs after the 19th of December.

I thank you for due subscription and comments, likes, and shares. Thank you very much for your continued feedback and support.

Sincerely,

Courage, Daring, Audacious!

Many of us show courage in different forms like taking a small step towards a larger goal or overcoming overwhelming odds with emotions of hopelessness, despair, and anxiety in nature. I believe there are two types of courage: one is direct like fighting a powerful enemy, and the second is indirect like fighting endless battles from within. The latter can be exemplified with coping with mental illness or overcoming mental health challenges.

Many of us in today’s world are daring enough to stand up to authority and question them in order to stand up for the people that are oppressed and/or marginalized. The courage comes from noticing that many things are flawed like us and are subject to change. This in itself is courage because people that want to change the world, or even the ideology of how people perceive the world, are often not hesitant to do so. That is why people that study or work ruthlessly in pursuit for their dreams and aspirations to be fulfilled are often at the top of the world. Those that lack motivation or drive of any sort are often looked down upon. Many of the older generations revolutionized the world during their time and today’s generation continues to revolutionize theirs.  It takes courage to be deviant.

Deviant means to deviate from a set of norms that society may force us to adhere, though we may find it valid for today’s society.

That is why I encourage my fellow readers and bloggers to have the courage to move forward despite the naysayers, critics, and people that underestimate you. Just like how a small snowflake can cause an avalanche, one idea one can make the world quake beneath one’s feet. Because let’s face it, only we have the key to our life and only we can its possibilities. When you prove everyone wrong the world itself begins to change because no one understands how one that was average became exceptional. There is beauty in surprising the people that underestimate you with your achievements I believe that an average individual or a group that is working hard towards something that they believe wholeheartedly while disregarding everything and everyone that stands in their way is a prime example of courage.

When reading this blog, how did you feel, did you feel empowered? Did it ignite an idea? What do you think your form of courage is? Are you daring to take that courageous step forward to a better, brighter future, or will you stay stagnant?

Courage is not the absence of fear it is acting on the premise that there is something more important

——David Prince

When reading this blog, how did you feel, did you feel empowered? Or ignition of an idea! what do you think your form of courage is? Are you daring to take that courageous step forward to a better, brighter future, or will you stay stagnant!

Rising

This blog is all about the mental constructs in our minds. People often conceptualize these constructs as their mental states It is important to understand that our constructs symbolize who we are as people. In many people’s minds, there are constructs called risings and sinkers.  What I am saying is that the risings are made up of everything great around one and sinkers are everything that has brought one’s hopes, dreams, desires to the ground–thus, creating regret.  Of course, as humans, we want to accomplish everything we set out to do that way regret may never be formed. That is why many people now say that it is important to live in the present moment. For this blog, I am not going to dwell on the sinkers because they are the regrets of one’s desires, dreams, and hopes. However, I am going to focus on the risings and discuss with you how the risings should be protected from becoming a sinker. In order to do that, one needs to accomplish the goals that they set for themselves at the beginning of their journey.

For example, my journey was always to share my story, experiences, passion, as well as knowledge of what I have learnt throughout my life. I want to talk about the challenges I overcame and how they made me resilient and somewhat exhilarated to keep going and growing stronger. Our experiences create architecturally sound and strong risings. Let me give you the example of my mental construct, which is a floating fortress that floats all around my world in past and present. It takes care of my world below, which is my city. Both the sun and moon shine brightly within my world. That is not to say that my city does not help me with making my world stronger. My city gives me confidence, hope, rage when needed, greed when needed, love, and compassion. I treat my world as my teacher because though I made it with my thoughts that are positive and negative, it gives me the insight and confidence to push in face of adversity. Thus, my mind gets stronger and so does my fortress created by everything I have endured in this life.   Many of you may realize that my world is much different than yours, which is a good thing because that is what reflects you as a person. The rising is everything that you are comfortable in, however, you have to face unending struggles to keep it from sinking. These struggles can be insecurities, other people’s expectations of you, and many other things, which will always make you feel terrible about yourself. How you internalize the feelings and many other undesired experiences, are what determine whether you are protecting your risings or sinking them.

What I want you all to take away from this topic is that never let yourself or other people get in the way of what you want out of life. Whether it may be a career prospect or an interest that you want to pursue or even a hobby that you want to transform into a career for yourself. At the end of the day, you are responsible for what you do with your life. If some of my readers are living an unfulfilling life of or living off other people’s expectations of them, then you would have to question yourself if that is what you really want. If not, go ahead and do self-exploration, because this is your life and you are a person of great potential who can turn this world upside down if you really want it. Embrace yourself as a human and celebrate your world with a fantastic journey that creates new risings.

“The world within you is of greater consequence than the world around you.”

Embrace Darkness to find Path to Light

Embrace yourself all bad and good.

We often view that darkness as a force that will cause us harm, and force us to see things about ourselves that we hope not to see. That is why we perceive darkness as evil and often perceived as a plague to the minds as a form of negativity with unwanted feelings about us. This can be frustrating at times because it forces us to work on ourselves, but it allows us to grow as individuals with some form of vulnerability. One must understand that embracing one’s dark half is embracing a part of one’s true self, though one will not like it, nevertheless one must accept as indisputable truth of their self. In order to journey on towards the light forged by continuous hard work and self-discovery.

For example, I went through a lot of hardships within education, however that hardship has made me who I am today. I have also learnt to use my darkness as a teacher in helping me to see understand my significance and purpose in this expansive earth. My dark half and the experiences have also taught me as to how I can evolve from my darkness into a brighter yet truthful being. At the end of the day, darkness is how we perceive and internalize the feelings that we feel about our truths. In turn, darkness is the dirt that seeks for us to be non-complacent and to be in continuous evolution. From the earlier example, I described how I had to overcome my challenge in education and how that has made me who I am today. During that time in my life, I was in a tough situation, which forced me to venture into unknown experiences, which, looking back to that hardship, I feel grateful. This experience has armed me with the realization that I am capable of anything only if I will it. And now I see myself as the writer of my own life not predestined by anyone else. Through this experience, I acquired the trait of resilience that is strong enough to feel calm amidst any crisis. This is how darkness has taught me to value myself, regardless of how other people see me. As Eddie Pinero says, “No one knows what key you hold, only you know it, and they will find out in time just ten steps behind you”. The battle with darkness and against it has taught me life’s many lessons that are easily missed, like recognizing that having an inner darkness is essential for growing into a being that recognizes that every struggle that one ever faces is against themselves rather than with other people. War comes in everyone’s life no matter how pure, innocent, or even how evil, and malicious one is. In order to gain access to the path to light, one is challenged by darkness.

I know you may be thinking where I am going with this topic. About all this “darkness and light mumbo jumbo”, but what I am trying to convey is that one should see darkness as a challenge and as a choice – you either run away from it, or you face it. Only when a person whose inner darkness gets strong mentally and spiritually, can they acquire insight into their heart’s desires. Since we are on this topic, I want to tell you about a show that I watched this summer, which is called Cloak and Dagger. This show had a very interesting concept of two teenagers who acquired the power to control light and dark, which entailed that one kid who had acquired the power of light had the ability to peer into people’s hopes and dreams. The counterpart had the power of darkness had the power to peer into people’s fears and their secrets that they wished to hide from other people. This show gives a unique insight into how we as humans try to look positive from the outside, while from the inside negativity and fears are running amuck in our mind and heart, thus causing one to be easily faltered in one’s goal’s an endeavour.

For example, some people believe that they live in the present, however, though that may be their perspective, it may not be true no matter how much they say they live in the present moment. That outlook can be a goal, as it takes a lot of time to acquire the positive energy to maintain it. But, that can only happen if one has faced their demons and won, thus making their mind and spirit strong enough to maintain the positive process. I believe that light is beautiful, but its beauty is often shrouded in darkness and sometimes one must be astonished to the beauty of the dark, because that is how life is designed for us humans here and now. But, how we internalize the beauty and ugliness is how we claw to pick apart the shadow and once again bring back the light that we constantly seek.

Lastly, I want to conclude this blog by pointing out that darkness is in everybody’s life, but how we learn to face the dark and embrace through overcoming challenges and learning from it constantly builds the fortitude and the resilience needed to rise to walk into the light.

I now ask you, is darkness a friend, or a foe? Because regardless of how one perceives it, at the end of the day, that is the only way to walk into the light.

Maybe you have to know the darkness before you can appreciate the light.

Anxiety

We all know as a fact that anxiety is a mental illness. But to understand how anxiety affects us, we need to delve into the understanding of human nature. As a matter of fact, anxiety plays a large role in all the emotions. It is easy to conclude that anxiety affects how we conceptualize our situations and our circumstances. Anxiety can be frustrating to handle because it makes us restless, stressed, and most of all, disrupt our daily activities. Anxiety also gives us a sense of insecurity that we genuinely do not know how to counter, because it constantly derails our confidence and self-esteem. In many cases, our human nature revolves around our sense of purpose that we believe validates our existence, but when that purpose becomes unclear when the anxiety takes root, and if one gets worried and stressed, that anxiety festers on and on until it starts to affect our entire life.

Thus far, we have only explained the cause of anxiety and the effects it has on our lives and our daily activities. But, now lets flip that and see how anxiety can also help us move further in our goals for the future. The effects of anxiety mentioned above are the long-term manifestations if we allow that anxiety to become ingrained in our core being within our minds. However, in the short-term, it can help one to gain heightened senses where it will help us overcome distractions that constantly derail our progress. Anxiety can also help one to establish a sense of direction when there is a lot of work that needs to be accomplished in a short period of time.

I completely acknowledge and fully understand how anxiety can affect mental well-being, however, we all have some level of anxiety within us, so one must gain wisdom and an understanding that anxiety will be present in some capacity as we go ahead and accomplish whatever goals and dreams we have planned. We cannot let anxiety dictate our course. Even though I understand that anxiety has affected many lives, it does not hold a candle to one’s willpower and inner strength in moving forward, which has the ability to silence one’s anxiety as they progress forward in their lives. So be positive that everything will work out; although it will not show results fast, know that your efforts will never go in vain in your mission to accomplish what you set out to do in life, and know that everything takes time, so take one step at a time to reach your goals.

Anxiety does not empty tommorrow of it’s sorrows, but only empties today of its strength.

Sadness

What is sadness? Think about this question while reading this blog you may of the bat have a preconceived notion that this post will be depressing and it would not be worth reading. But I challenge you to not assume or have a preconceived notion just from the title of this blog. You must also be wondering why is Devashish dwelling into a depressing emotion especially when it is a month of sunshine and rain. Or even better you may not even have any of those thoughts, or you may be just curious as to how I will explain such a depressing emotion and still make it inspiring for you all to read it. This blog post is connected to anger or any other emotional post I may make in the future.

Sadness is a very complicated emotion just like anger and etc. But we all know too well what causes sadness maybe it is a response to a situation, circumstances, emotional response to something we saw or miss someone near to us. This emotion will be the bi-product emotion in response to many emotional blogs I will be posting in the future, which you will notice by the way. So let’s get back to what sadness is! This is how I define sadness and that is sad is an emotion that is flexible to work with all the emotions within our mind, as it is easily expressible through happiness, anger, fear, sadness or even a heartfelt connection to a person or a fictional character in a movie or in a book. In our society sadness is thought to be a negative and a gender-oriented emotion, for example, women are emotional so they are able to cry whenever, whereas men cannot cry because they are supposed to be strong, hardy, and can be seen as a crybaby if they do cry. Just because society has deemed that emotion to be irrelevant to men that do not mean they cannot cry. On the Contrary, I believe that people should be free to express their emotional state freely, however, some of you may disagree, but that is fine. I find that society’s viewpoint on men unable to express their emotional state to be ill logical or irrational thought or norm. Sadness is an emotion that helps us maintain our humanity, helps us reflect on our mistakes and challenges that we have overcome so far, and always forces us to look forward. In many cases from a personal experience of sadness has helped me develop my soft skill of empathy, therefore I am able to channel people’s worries and their crisis that they come to me with to discuss.

How you may ask has sadness made me an empathetic human being? Well when watching movies not sad preferably, I tend to be sucked into the character’s world or feel the emotions they feel within the movie or within a scene of that movie; or even in an anime (Japanese cartoons), I watch. This one particular anime called Violet Evergarden has always never ceased my teary eyes due to the scenes that the protagonist and the clients play. Violet Evergarden is about a woman who writes letters for people all around the world that means she travels a lot for her clients to write them their letter and see it delivered to the rightful person. The main part of the anime is when she meets her clients who she is hired to write a letter to. The anime’s storyline is so well done and every micro emotion and non-verbal and verbal dialogues you can relate to the client’s difficulties and main character’s willpower to write the letter, which does not concern them no matter how sad or emotional, the letter is because it is to make the teller strong to leave a mark so they can pass on. And the fact after when you find out what the letter was about you cannot help, but cry for the recipient of the letter. For me or anyone that can somewhat understand humans and their desire to leave a legacy or a positive note before they pass on or to let the recipient know that they are ok. I feel that the main character learns a lot from these faithful encounters with her clients, even though the clients are the one that asks for Violet Evergarden to write the letters for them. It is a beautiful anime regardless of whether you like anime or not, but for sure I recommend watching it to see the relation of sadness and how the client and the main character face’s it through strength, courage, and positive wishes for their recipients. I made a point that at least once a year or a month I will watch or hear the sad music because it makes one relate to the artist that makes the music and also keeps you empathetic and grateful of living in the present.

I recommend watching heartfelt movies or whatever that makes you feel grateful and grounded. Use sadness as that emotion to help you elevate in areas where no emotion can go, but only sadness. You will feel enlightened to the experiences that you acquire and you will come to understand yourself that much more. Do not label it to be a hindering emotion, but instead as an emotion to make other emotions stronger and also your spirit that becomes much stronger as you progress through life, you will also attain strength that you never knew that you had. In fact, all emotions are there to help you out whether they may be good or bad, they are going to be present in your mind. In many cases, sadness has given me the ability to heal or refreshed or rejuvenation and reflect on how far I have come and yet can go. It also makes me grateful for coming across challenges and hurdles that have made me stronger and matured me a bit.  To explain further as to how sadness is an important emotion I will give an example that you may be able to relate to better. I saw a video on Facebook where it showed people crying while watching a movie. While, I was watching the video it said that people that cry when watching any movies whether it may be sad or not has the ability to make a meaningful relations to the fictional character’s journey or anyone’s journey in real life in whatever capacity they may be going through one could relate because it shows how much developed you are as a person. The video said that the people that cry not just when watching a movie, but in anything that is worth crying about should be taken care of because those people are very important in this world because they can relate to people’s challenge and hardships faster in a more developed empathetic way. I also recommend watching that video, which is on Facebook on my timeline or saved under my profile.

First, accept sadness. Realize that without losing, winning isn’t so great.

——Alyssa Milano

So, now that you have read about how sadness can be a reflective and a strengthening emotion; do you still think sadness is a depressive emotion or do you think that all emotions have the ability to make you strong mentally, physically, and spiritually in some capacity? I leave that interpretation up to you. Because I know for sure that sadness has made me more reflective and to realize that I have the power to move forward with sadness on my back constantly backing my state of mind up, I know that I have nothing to feel worried about. It also has made me humble, grounded, and grateful for the life I am living in this very moment. So my question at the beginning of the blog about what is sadness to you, because until you don’t find the answer for yourself you will never allow sadness to help you push yourself further and for you to keep growing in your life and learning. Even though other emotions are there to help you in that endeavour, but you will always feel that some part of you is always missing.
